Registration is now open for the Playa Blanca Music Race Night 2023. The race, which is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, will have three distances: 1.6, five and ten kilometers. It will be of fast and low difficulty routes through the central area of Playa Blanca. The tourist town in the south of Lanzarote has already held this crossing in two previous editions, bringing together a festive meeting, sports, music and a "multicolored" atmosphere, according to the Yaiza City Council.
Representatives of the Yaiza City Council and the Triyaiza Sports Club presented the Playa Blanca Music Race Night 2023 this Tuesday at the Benito Pérez Armas House of Culture. The organization estimates the participation of 800 children, young people, adults and seniors. The routes and regulations of the race are published in the same registration link.
“It is a family event that is also attractive for competitive athletes who come to win, but what is gratifying is that everyone has a great time, whether running or walking, so much so that the party continues in bars and restaurants in Playa Blanca. The event is an activity, like many others that we promote from Yaiza, that moves the local economy,” says Mayor Óscar Noda.
For the Councilor for Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, “the race is consolidated and always open to improvement. Athletes come from all the municipalities of Lanzarote who know that in Playa Blanca they find a place where they are wonderfully welcomed by our people. The City Council is not only committed to the night race, but also appreciates the enormous involvement of the Triyaiza Sports Club, which carries out a valuable mission in favor of sports in Yaiza and Lanzarote.”
The president of Triyaiza, Leandro Gutiérrez, who was accompanied at the presentation by the Club's secretary Ángel Gómez, maintains that “we continue to accumulate organizational experience with the Playa Blanca Music Race Night and we are especially excited to see the massive participation of entire families who enjoy this meeting around sports.” The organization appreciates the work of volunteers and all the sponsoring entities and companies that support the southern night race.
