With the confirmation of Real Madrid joining the group of participants, 'Lanzarote International Cup' continues unstoppably towards its first edition next June. The presence of the Real Madrid base in Lanzarote not only gives a plus of sporting quality, but could also be enhanced by the interest that Real Madrid Televisión has shown in being at the 'Lanzarote International Cup', which would enhance the dissemination of the event internationally, with what this would mean for the Island in general.
The Real Madrid youth academy currently has 19 teams, 16 male and 3 female, where possible future players of the first teams are trained both footballistically and educationally, being considered one of the best bases in the world, being the academy that produces more top-level players in Europe since 2016. 'La Fabrica', as it is popularly known, had its beginnings in the early 20s. Currently, Manu Fernández holds the position of coordinator together with Juni Calafat and Stefan Kohfahi. It has more than 270 footballers, which makes it one of the most productive youth academies in Spain.
Among the names that have come out of 'La Fabrica' are: García Remón, Vicente del Bosque, Camacho, Poli Rincón, Julen Lopetegui, Chendo, Sanchís, Martín Vázquez, Butragueño, Raúl González, Iker Casilla or Guti, are some of the most successful footballers in the history of Real Madrid. Lanzarote International Cup is open to the Benjamín and Alevín categories, having confirmed their participation numerous international and national teams, including some from the rest of the Archipelago.
Among them are the best youth academies in the Spanish and European leagues, as well as other continents such as America and Asia. Between athletes, coaches, managers, referees, family members... more than 5,000 people will be concentrated in Lanzarote from June 26 to 30.
Lanzarote International Cup will be experienced throughout Lanzarote with fields in the seven municipalities of the island and with the participation of 82 teams and some 1,300 athletes.
