During the last four days, the island's soccer fields have witnessed exciting matches, where passion and sportsmanship shone in every game at the Lanzarote International Cup. Likewise, it was experienced at the closing ceremony this Sunday, at the Tías soccer field, whose sports day left some exciting championship finals for the participating teams and for all attendees.

The days of competition took place in an enthusiastic atmosphere, full of talent on the field and with great healthy competition. Thus, with a total of 65 teams, including outstanding participations of two women's teams, the Real Madrid in the Benjamin category was victorious, followed by Real Club Deportivo La Coruña and Real Sociedad in the gold phase. For their part, the Alevín champions were Sevilla Fútbol Club, who showed great ability on the field, which was continued by the clubs Sporting de Portugal and U.D. Las Palmas, who obtained second and third place respectively.

Regarding the silver phase, the Benjamin team of the Tigrillos from Mexico took the victory and the Club Deportivo Tenerife triumphed in the Alevín category. Also, David Sánchez (Real Madrid) wins the award for Best Benjamin Player and Cristian Taralunga (S.Portugal) for Best Alevín Player. Also Paul Pereda (Real Sociedad) and Marco Campo (Sevilla) rise as winners as best Benjamin and Alevín goalkeepers respectively.

During the course of the morning, the finals were held at the Tías soccer field. The decisive matches kept everyone on the edge of their seats, highlighting the impetus and talent of the young soccer players. After a morning full of dribbles, great passes and emotions, the awards ceremony rewarded the winning teams, recognizing their effort and dedication. The final closing ceremony, held in an atmosphere of joy and celebration, put the finishing touch, awarding the trophies to a memorable edition of the Lanzarote International Cup.

In addition, on the afternoon of this Saturday, the closing ceremony with the presentation of medals took place at the Casa-Museo del Campesino. Between hymns and chants, each and every one of the participating athletes received their medal from the organizers of the event. At the end, those present enjoyed a dinner and a festive atmosphere with the concert of the group Treintytantos.

The event was attended by the Sports Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Juan Monzón, who took the stage together with the mayor of Teguise and numerous councilors of the island. Monzón wanted to recognize and thank the work of the organizers, in addition to the involvement of the seven town councils, and ended his speech showing his firm commitment to a next edition of the event.

The atmosphere of the Lanzarote International Cup, without a doubt, was marked by the emotion and unconditional support of families and fans, who enjoyed every moment of this day of this grassroots soccer championship. From the group stage to the finals, the organization of the tournament underlined its commitment to sustainability. Thus, among other actions, the carbon footprint and the waste generated were measured, laying the foundations for future, even more sustainable events.
