The waters of Puerto Calero hosted the Lanzarote Trophy 2024 regatta last weekend, optimist light sailing class, with the participation of more than sixty young athletes from the main clubs of the Canary Islands, joining them an international representation that favored competitiveness and encouraged the fraternization of boys and girls around the sport.
The Yaiza City Council "values the organization by the Código Cero Sports Club and the support of Puerto Calero, always committed to sports." With very good wind conditions, the competition took place between Saturday and Sunday with four races during the first day and four more on the second.
In the absolute category, María Guindín won, Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria; Emilie Pérez, Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria; and Jorge Pérez. Real Club Náutico de Tenerife. Yaiza, the Island Council, Puerto Calero and the Canary Islands Sailing Federation made it possible to hold this new sporting event in the south of Lanzarote.
