On March 1, 2026, the I Phase of the National Karate League was held in the Madrid town of Torrejón de Ardoz, a state-level event that brought together prominent competitors from all over the country and in which the Lanzarote native Omar Moriano delivered a brilliant performance.

The karateka, belonging to the Karate Suhari club of the municipality of Tías, won the national runner-up title, hanging the silver medal in the Kumite Master 2 +75 kilograms category, after a demanding competition in which he demonstrated solidity, experience, and a high technical level on the tatami.

Alongside him, athletes Silvia del Castillo and Dimas Viñoly also represented Club Suhari, completing a meritorious participation in this first league phase. Although on this occasion they did not manage to reach podium positions, both offered a good performance and left positive feelings for upcoming calendar events.

The expedition was led by its coach, Marco Guerrero, responsible for the technical and tactical preparation of the team, who continues working to consolidate the club as a benchmark for karate in Lanzarote.
