The fourth edition of the Stage MTB Race Lanzarote 2023 has come to an end at Club La Santa. This Tuesday, the riders faced the most demanding challenge of this event: 82 kilometers and 1,700 meters of elevation gain, with ten kilometers of constant ascent, have shaped the last day of this year's edition.

Kristian Østergaard took the queen stage, managing to beat Karl Markt in the final part after the Austrian had led for much of the race. The Dane finished five seconds ahead of the Austrian, with Jacob Reyes in third position.

In the women's category, Tessa Kortekaas achieved a great victory at the Club La Santa finish line. The Dutch rider never slowed down and took a well-deserved victory. It should be noted that both the Romanian Manuela Muresan and the British Amy Henchoz never gave up and kept fighting to try to catch Kortekaas at some point, but the pace set by the champion was unattainable.

Kristian Østergaard and Tessa Kortekaas have been the main protagonists of the race and take home the victory after four days of hard work. Both have dominated this 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote and have led the classification of their respective categories from start to finish. Both have also achieved a clean sweep of stage victories, winning all four stages.

As every year, all participants have given their best. Each day of competition was more difficult than the previous one, not only because of the accumulated fatigue, but also because of the progressive increase in the difficulty of the stages.

Among the Spanish participants, Jacob Reyes stood out, reaching the podium in three stages and finishing in third position overall. In the women's category, Saleta Castro was sixth among the Elite category bikers. Among the Canary Islands participants, Manuel de León from Tenerife had a great race and finished in fifth position in the overall standings.

"Once again, the event organized by Club La Santa has been a success in terms of participation and development of each stage. This hotel complex continues to work every year to offer top-level competitions to all its participants. The collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Turismo de Lanzarote and European Sports Destination has also been essential for this," the organization points out.

More than 400 participants ventured into this tough challenge, cycling through the unique and spectacular landscapes of Lanzarote, while testing their endurance. In addition to the participants, the celebration of the 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote keeps Lanzarote and the Canary Islands in a leading position in the international sports scene.
