Narrow victory for UD Lanzarote against Estrella CF (1-0)

Balsamic victory achieved by UD Lanzarote against Estrella CF, which allows them to continue fighting for the play-off positions in the Third Division. Despite not being a good match, the rojillo team tried the most to unbalance the score, although they were not at all successful in creating offensive play. Natanael, a player who debuted with UD Lanzarote, was the author of the only goal of the match and gave the three points to the Lanzarote team.

Alternating dominance in the first half of the match, with neither team being able to take control of the game. The first warning was given by Estrella CF, with a shot from Lisandro from the left vertex of the area that went just wide of the three posts. The first few minutes showed that Estrella CF did not come to the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote to speculate with the result.

The response from UD Lanzarote would come in two clear actions from Ayoze Pérez. The first in the 9th minute, with a cross from Rosmen from the left side and Ayoze's header went over the crossbar. And in the 15th minute, Ayoze finished from the penalty spot a loose ball inside the area, with the shot going excessively high. Before this second action, Fran Gil headed a corner kick that did not find the three posts.

The minutes continued to pass, with UD Lanzarote trying to have more of the ball in their possession, although they lost it very easily to the pressure from Estrella CF. The visitors enjoyed another chance in the 37th minute. Eche was in charge of executing a free kick from the left side, forcing goalkeeper Agoney to put his fists in to send the ball to a corner kick.

The first part of the match concluded with several hard actions from the Estrella CF players that were not punished with yellow cards by the referee. The worst affected by these plays were Miguel Gómez and Rosmen, players who finished the first half with physical problems. The first 45 minutes concluded with a goalless draw.

In the second half, the dominance of UD Lanzarote was accentuated, being the team that had more of the ball in their possession and the one that sought to unbalance the match in their favor. Estrella CF did not renounce the attack and tried it in dangerous counterattacks. Like the one led by Ruymán in the 60th minute, after stealing a ball in the center of the field, with Agoney responding to the powerful shot from the visiting player.

UD Lanzarote was able to get ahead from a set piece. Borja Vera was in charge of executing a free kick from the center of the field, Rosmen headed in at the far post and goalkeeper Roberto took the ball next to the base of the post. Minutes later, it was Krispy who tried it with an entry down the right wing and again the Estrella CF goalkeeper responded.

The visitors had to face the last 20 minutes of the match with one less player on the field. Lisandro, committing a foul on the edge of the area, saw the second yellow card of the match.

Natanael, a player who debuted on Sunday with the UD Lanzarote shirt, would be the author of the rojillo team's winning goal. The Tenerife striker controlled a ball inside the area, blasting goalkeeper Roberto with a shot that went in like a howitzer into the back of the net. Natanael had only been on the field for fourteen minutes, making his debut as a scorer for UD Lanzarote.

Until the end of the match, UD Lanzarote defended with order and did not allow Estrella to approach the goal defended by Agoney. They were minutes of great nerves, given the importance of the three points, and in which the local team managed to ensure that the match did not have rhythm.

UD Lanzarote continues to be seven points away from the play-off zone of the Third Division, achieving seven of the last nine points that have been put into play. In the next match, the rojillo team travels to La Palma to face SD Tenisca, another of the rivals who are fighting to get among the top four classified.
