Swimmer Kennedy Denby has become the Spanish champion in the 400-meter freestyle. The gold medal has flown to Lanzarote thanks to this athlete, but we must also highlight the bronze medal won by Gustavo Lourenco in the 1,500 freestyle in the junior category of the national championship.
Kennedy Denby is a member of the Nadamas Swimming Club, based in the town of Costa Teguise. Denby recently traveled to Malaga where the Spanish Absolute and Junior Summer Championships were held.
To mark this victory, the Department of Sports of the Teguise City Council, led by Alejandro Ramírez, congratulates this swimmer. In addition, the Nadamas club has achieved other very satisfactory results in other categories and in other events. For example, in the Sabadel Children's Championship, Naira Jaen Serra won bronze in the 1,500 and Juan José de Armas Delgado also won bronze in the 800 freestyle.
"The fact that a club like Nadamas works with young talents, and at the same time, manages to be in high-level competitions is a source of pride for the municipality. In Costa Teguise they have found the ideal location for their training, although we will continue working to achieve a municipal Olympic swimming pool so that this and other clubs can achieve their sporting goals", said the Councilor for Sports, Alejandro Ramírez.
For her part, the mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, in her purpose of recognizing the talent and effort of the young promises of the municipality, "because it is important to highlight the achievements and find role models to extend the practice of sports", has already announced that she will receive the Nadamas Club and its medalist, Kennedy Denby, in the Mayor's Office, "with the purpose of knowing their most specific needs in view of their next competitive objectives".
