The University Sailing Championship Xunta de Galicia was held at the Centro Gallego de Vela de Vilagarcía de Arousa, and on this occasion, it featured the participation of Lanzarote native Mariano Stinga González. The sailor from the Real Club Náutico was proclaimed winner of a day that was marked by a high competitive level and in this way, he qualifies for the Spanish University Sailing Championship.
The University Sailing Championship Xunta de Galicia was held in the Elliot class, and Mariano Stinga sailed representing the University of Coruña, where he is currently pursuing his studies. The Lanzarote sailor teamed up with Enrique Lagos Molins and Irene Rodríguez Rey.
The competition featured the participation of seven boats; four from the University of Coruña, two from the University of Vigo and one from the University of Santiago de Compostela. In the university classification, the day concluded with the triumph of the University of Coruña, occupying the first two positions overall.
The triumph achieved in the Campeonato Universitario de Vela Xunta de Galicia, allows Mariano Stinga to qualify for the Campeonato de España Universitario de Vela. A competition that will take place in the Cadiz town of Puerto de Santa María, from April 14 to 17, and organized by the Universidad de Cádiz.
