The young boxer from Lanzarote, Mariano Hilario "El Tiburón", was proclaimed this Friday as the junior champion of Spain in the welterweight category during the Spanish championships that are being held these days in the city of Alicante.
The boxer trained by the historic "Palenque" won the gold medal in the welterweight category, up to 65 kilos.
The performance of the Canarian boxers was also outstanding, with a total of 8 medals won; 3 golds, 1 silver and 4 bronzes.
Jonay Perera, the other Lanzarote boxer who attended this event in Alicante, was not so lucky, and could not win a medal in the super lightweight category.
