The triathlete from Lanzarote, Lionel Morales, stood out in his participation in the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, where he reached sixth place in the PTS2 discipline of Paratriathlon, obtaining an Olympic diploma. The athlete's performance, characterized by his determination, has been a clear example of perseverance, leading him to become a leading figure for the Island and for the entire country.
The president of the Island Council, Oswaldo Betancort, expresses his pride in the athlete's achievement, who has not only represented Lanzarote, but has also "taken the name of our island to the world stage, demonstrating what it means to be a true champion." He also reiterates the Corporation's commitment to supporting local athletes in all their facets.
For his part, the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, points out the importance of participating in these games and Lionel's performance in Paris. "He is an example for young athletes, who inspires us to continue promoting inclusive sports in our community," he emphasizes.
