Lanzarote has received the visit of the 'World Bodybuilding Runner-up' and athlete from the Island, Mikel Carrasco, who last July obtained two silver medals in the 'World Championship' held in Slovakia. Oswaldo Betancort, together with the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, were in charge of receiving the athlete and congratulating him personally for his recent achievement.
Betancort highlighted the "great contribution that Carrasco has made by making both his sports discipline visible", as well as the island in "top-level events" such as a world championship. "It is a pride for Lanzarote to have athletes like Mikel Carrasco" who stand out in "different sports and are an example of perseverance and discipline", added the president.
