One of the pearls of Lanzarote football is emigrating outside our borders to continue growing sportingly. Saúl Coco, who was this season a player of the youth team of Orientación Marítima, joins this Monday what will be his new team during the 2016/2017 season. Real Club Deportivo Espanyol has confirmed the signing of the Lanzarote player, incorporating him into its youth team.
Saúl Coco Oubiña is a second-year youth player who has experienced a more than remarkable progression as a footballer. The midfielder has trained in the lower categories of Orientación Marítima, to later spend two seasons in the cadet team of UD Las Palmas and return last season to the ranks of Orientación Marítima to play with the red-and-black team in the Youth Division of Honor.
He was one of the usual players in the lineups of Orientación Marítima and with seven goals he was the third highest scorer of the red-and-black team, behind Nico Ledo (12) and Jorge (10). A midfielder who is in charge of organizing the offensive game of the team, with enough arrival to the opposite area and who also stands out for his powerful shot. A player who also collaborates in the defensive work of the team, being very supportive of his work on the field.
Saúl Coco has not lacked sports "girlfriends" this summer and several teams, including CD Tenerife and UD Las Palmas, have been interested in acquiring the services of the Lanzarote player. Finally, it has been RCD Espanyol the team that has signed Saúl Coco and to which he has signed for the next four seasons.
On Monday begins the pre-season of RCD Espanyol and Saúl Coco is scheduled to make the first training with the Catalan team. Saúl's new club aspires to revalidate the title of champion achieved in the 2015/2016 season, when he finished the campaign in group 3 of the Youth Division of Honor with 77 points and only conceded one defeat in the entire regular phase of the competition.
