On Saturday, the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife organized the second edition of the ASailor Trophy of Wingfoil, an event that was supposed to be held last year, but was postponed due to inclement weather. On this occasion, 17 kiters registered for the test, highlighting the multiculturalism, with participations from Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Poland and Great Britain, being an event of international importance.

The Lanzarote brand ASailor continues to promote sailing events on the island, sponsoring different trophies of various nautical classes. On this occasion, it was the Wingfoil class, a modality that has gained many followers worldwide, without Lanzarote being left behind, being an ideal place to practice this class due to the climatic conditions of the island.

The trophy had four races, starting the first of them shortly before three in the afternoon, with a wind of 17 to 19 knots from the north-northeast. The races were dominated by Jorge “Coke” Padilla de Armas, from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, who managed to win the four scheduled regattas. For his part, Paul Lecouey was second, after finishing in the same position in each of the tests. Third was Aris Yoldjoglou, tied on points with Pablo Padilla de Armas, resolving the tie by the result in the last round, Aris's third to Pablo's fourth.

One of the great satisfactions of the test was the wide female participation, with the event sponsor deciding to also award a prize to the first classified, this position being for Spela Buh, who finished ninth overall, with 30 points. ASailor will send her the corresponding trophy in a few days, deciding that in the next editions there will also be a trophy for the women's category.

After the test, the awards ceremony took place in the chillout area of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, which together with the sponsor ASailor offered a paella to the participants.
