Gorka Rodríguez and Lucía Acosta, winners of the XXX RCNA Triathlon – City of Arrecife

The event was held in the island's capital with the participation of about 250 triathletes

The capital of Lanzarote experienced a vibrant Saturday afternoon with the celebration of the XXX RCNA Triathlon – City of Arrecife, an event that brought together about 250 triathletes and that
forms part of the Canary Islands Triathlon Series. The day, marked by the heat, did not prevent participants and spectators from enjoying an intense and lively competition with music.

The event began with the youngest, who participated in an aquathlon adapted to their categories, giving them an unforgettable experience. Later, it was the turn of the supersprint for children, cadets and youth, who started from El Reducto Beach, went up through the Canary Islands Park for the bicycle transition, and completed a total distance of 12.8 kilometers. The fastest in this category were Ricardo Martín and Elízabeth Rosa, both from CD Zero Watios.

The competition continued with the Sprint mode, which followed a similar route, but with distances increased to complete 25.73 kilometers. In this category, in addition to those over 16 years of age, the team mode was held, where the Too Fast Too Furious team took the victory.

In the general classification, the winners were Gorka Rodríguez from CD Triatlón Soriano and Lucía Acosta from Club Triatlón Diablillos de Rivas, with times of 58:16 and 1:05:09, respectively. On the men's podium, Gorka was accompanied by Jorge Wilkes and Ricardo Hernández from Club Triator, while in the women's, Lucía shared the podium with Mia Leadbeater (Chamo Díaz) and Irene Loizate (Tenerife - Reactive Fisioterapia - In side Logistics).

The awards ceremony was attended by prominent authorities, including the president of the Royal Yacht Club, Julio Romero; Eli Merino, Councilor for Sports of the Arrecife City Council; Óscar López, Councilor for Acts and Events of the Arrecife City Council; Roberto Herbón, Councilor for children's parks and parks and gardens; Davinia Déniz, Councilor for beaches of the Arrecife City Council; Adrián Ornia, president of the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation; Rafael Márquez, colonel chief of the Marqués de Herrera barracks; and the lieutenant colonel of the Lanzarote Military Aerodrome, Pablo Aguirre. The day concluded with a lively celebration at the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, where music put the finishing touch to a day full of sport and camaraderie.
