The Club La Santa calendar for 2024 is now closed. With some modifications and new events, the hotel complex continues to promote sports, active living and value-added tourism, sustainable and respectful of the environment.
The calendar for 2024 will start from January 27 to 30, when mountain bike lovers will once again enjoy the famous 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote, the only UCI XCM category event held in the Canary Islands. In addition, it is being processed to obtain the UCI SHC category, which would make it one of the few events in Spain to achieve it.
Then comes the Volcano Triathlon, the oldest triathlon event in Spain, which changes date to be held on April 27, 2024 and whose registrations are now open.
Practically a month later, on May 18, 2024, the island's most emblematic sporting event will take place: the IRONMAN Lanzarote. The queen event of triathlon in Europe will maintain its usual date on the calendar and will celebrate its 32nd edition thanks to the efforts of Club La Santa and IRONMAN, together with the collaboration of public entities such as the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Lanzarote European Sports Destination by Turismo Lanzarote, the island's town councils and other sponsors. The registration period for IRONMAN Lanzarote will open soon.
In September 2024 a new event will arrive, the Cycling Tour of Lanzarote, which is in the process of being framed within the UCI calendar. It will have two stages of road cycling: Saturday, September 28 with 110 kilometers of route and Sunday, September 29 with another 70 kilometers.
Finally, at the end of November the running events will be held: the Night Run (provisional date November 23, 2024) and the International Running Challenge (from November 24 to 27, 2024).
A calendar that demonstrates Club La Santa's commitment to sport and its commitment to excellence in all its events and services to contribute decisively to the positioning of Lanzarote and the islands as a benchmark for sports tourism in general.
IRONMAN 70.3 Lanzarote, changes in 2024
Despite having reached the historical maximum of participation in 2023, with more than 1,200 triathletes from more than 40 countries, the IRONMAN 70.3 Lanzarote will not be held.
And it is that, after eleven editions of growth, learning and very positive evaluations by the participants, IRONMAN and Club La Santa have decided to focus their efforts on the full distance event, which will be developed, as always, hand in hand with public entities, sponsors, triathletes and volunteers to maintain Lanzarote as one of the great meccas of triathlon worldwide.
The events that remain in 2023
Sports lovers will not have to wait until next year to find a sporting event with which to visit Lanzarote. Still in 2023, specifically on November 25, the Night Run will take place, a nocturnal and relaxed race organized together with the Tinajo City Council. Between music, pyrotechnics, face painting and food trucks, this event delights the families who come to Club La Santa to enjoy a different plan. This event precedes the International Running Challenge, an international event that will be held from November 26 to 29. Not in vain, this year will be the 34th edition of a mythical competition in the running calendar.
