Defeat of FC Puerto del Carmen against Guiniguada Apolinario, leader of the Women's First National League, by 1 to 3, leaving the Lanzarote team with very good sensations. The approach of the local team gave good results from the beginning, having control of the match and preventing the Gran Canaria team from being comfortable on the artificial turf of the Municipal Stadium of Puerto del Carmen

When the local dominance was greater, the first visiting goal arrived. The referee signaled a maximum penalty for an unnecessary foul on the edge of the area, with Sheila taking charge of the shot and shooting the goalkeeper of the Tiñosero team, who could do nothing to avoid the goal.

The joy in Guiniguada Apolinario did not last long, because moments later Janet executed a direct free kick from the edge of the area that went into the right corner of goalkeeper Acerina, despite the goalkeeper's stretch.

The score was tied again and the local team's ball possession dynamic returned again, and the visitor's quick movements to try to surprise the Lanzarote team. In the 28th minute, Sheila put the players trained by Ana Belén González ahead again after a mistake by Manuela when defending her, with the attacker managing to get away from the defense and score in the one-on-one against Naza.

Jack Talbot's players had the opportunity to tie just after that goal with a very clear chance, where three players were alone in front of the goalkeeper, but the lack of understanding allowed the Gran Canaria goalkeeper to get the ball.

In the last bars of the first half, Alicia had the possibility of scoring up to twice. First, she took advantage of a mistake by the goalkeeper and shot towards the goal, with the defense taking the ball out on the goal line. Then came a new opportunity with a change of play from the right to the left, with the FC Puerto del Carmen player receiving the ball inside the area and unmarked, but her shot against Acerina went wide. The score was 1 to 2 at the end of the first forty-five minutes.

The second half was quite similar to the first, with good collective play by FC Puerto del Carmen and with the good work of the rival players, preventing the continuous attacks of the local team from having consequences against their score.

Jack Talbot's players were dominating the offensive facet, but they did not manage to get the goal that could give them the tie, with this prize finally going to Guiniguada Apolinario, who achieved the third goal in the 66th minute of the match.

A quick counterattack by the visiting team allowed Irene to stand alone against Naza, whom she beat by defining in the one-on-one and closing the match without the possibility of the Lanzarote players having a greater prize, something they certainly deserved after the spectacular match they played.

Jack Talbot stated at the end of the match that he was "very proud of the players, because they have played very well and have done everything we have worked on over these days", regretting "the high price they have paid for the few specific mistakes they have made".

With this defeat, FC Puerto del Carmen remains tenth in the standings, 9 points away from the complicated zone. Next week, the rojillo team will travel to Tenerife to visit Unión Deportiva Geneto del Teide on Saturday, a team that occupies the eighth position in the standings and that lost 3-2 to CD Achamán this week.
