Intense weekend expected with the celebration of the eleventh edition of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon, a sporting event that returns to the calendar of the island of Lanzarote after a year of absence. Months of waiting, work by the organizers and, above all, patience from the athletes to once again enjoy one of the important events.
The great party of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon will be experienced on Saturday morning 23 with the celebration of the different modalities that the event has. The first to start, at 08:00, will be the participants of the Supersprint and Olympic ADECCO modalities. Fifteen minutes later, the Half Distance will start and at 08:30 the triathletes of the Olympic modality will start. The tourist town of Puerto del Carmen and the Plaza de Las Naciones become the nerve center of the event.
Participants can begin to collect their bib numbers from this Friday morning, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 in the area enabled in the Plaza de Las Naciones. Only those cases previously approved by the organization may collect their bib numbers on Saturday morning. To speed up the process, it is necessary for triathletes to complete and send the responsible declaration of covid19 by mail.
From 16:00 this Friday it will be the turn of the little ones with the celebration of the Ocean Lava Kids, an aquathlon reserved for boys and girls from 3 to 15 years of age. The prebenjamin, benjamin, alevin, children and cadet categories have been established, with distances adapted to each of the age groups and with the aim that the young promises of triathlon feel involved.
Also on the afternoon of this Friday, from 16:00 to 20:00, the "check-in" will take place, a process in which the judges of the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation will verify that all the material to be used by the triathletes complies with current regulations and that the safety of the participants is guaranteed.
