The postponed match of the 23rd round of Group 6 of the Women's First National League was played on Tuesday at noon, with the match between FC Puerto del Carmen and CFS La Garita – Tablero. The Gran Canaria team traveled to Lanzarote with only ten players, and the Tiñosa team could not have Nieves and Kiara due to work issues. The team coached by Jack Talbot had no problems adding the three points and winning by a clear 7 to 1.
The match started in the best way for the interests of FC Puerto del Carmen. In the 3rd minute, a corner kick executed by Janet was headed by Eva Sánchez at the near post, beating goalkeeper Daniela. Just two minutes later came the second goal for the locals, with a long ball from Eva Sánchez for Janet to win the backs of the defenders and send the ball into the back of the net with a crossed shot.
The Tiñoseras steered the match in the 11th minute with a new goal. A strong shot from Janet from the edge of the area touched the crossbar before lodging inside the goal, becoming the third goal for the locals. Despite the difference on the field, CFS La Garita – Tablero did not give up and had a penalty in the 21st minute to reduce the difference. Lau was in charge of executing the penalty, sending the shot over the crossbar.
The match would liven up again in the final minutes of the first half with two new goals, one for each team. In the 39th minute, the referee signaled a penalty for a handball by Lau inside the area and Marisol was in charge of launching the penalty to establish the 4-0. And just two minutes later, a distant foul could not be blocked by Naza and Carolina took advantage of the rebound to establish the first goal in favor of the visitors.
The second half began with a new penalty in favor of the locals, after Lau knocked down Eva Sánchez inside the area. Again, Marisol was in charge of executing the penalty and with a mid-height shot made it impossible for goalkeeper Daniela to stretch. In this second half, the players of CFS La Garita – Tablero accused having only ten players, not being able to face the rival.
FC Puerto del Carmen completed the victory with two goals in the final stretch of the match. The sixth goal was scored by Ylenia in the 77th minute, after controlling a ball inside the area and putting the ball next to one of the posts of the goal. And with three minutes to go, Eira scored the seventh goal for the locals by taking advantage of several rebounds inside the area.
7 to 1 victory for FC Puerto del Carmen against CFS La Garita – Tablero, adding three points to be in eighth place in the standings. The Tiñoseras close the season in the Women's First National League on Sunday, April 24, receiving Real Unión “B”.
