Victory for Yeray Lemes-Aitor Cambeiro in the 44th Orvecame-Isla de Lanzarote Rally and Canary Islands Championship for Miguel Angel Suárez-Eduardo González after their fourth place finish in the Lanzarote event, the last of the 2023 season. For Yeray, it is his 11th victory in his home rally, this time driving the Citroen C3 Rally2 with Pluscar colors, with which he won six of the eight timed stages and beating the next classified team by 9.4 seconds. A lead that he maintained from last night, from start to finish, always keeping the CCRA tenors at bay.

The one who came closest was the Ford Fiesta R5 of Enrique Cruz-Yeray Mujica, who scored the other two scratch times and showed that they were the only ones who could fight for the victory against Lemes-Cambeiro. Their effort secured them the second place on the final podium, a position they also maintained throughout their best rally in Lanzarote, after several years without participating. Also noteworthy is the third place of Cerny-Cernohorsky, who in their debut in the feared and fast Lanzarote stages knew how to set a high pace from the beginning with the Hyundai i20-N Rally2.

The DISA-Copi Sport team won again in TC6, the first pass through Los Valles-Haría-Tabayesco. But in the second, the last stage of the rally and also TC Plus, Yeray beat Enrique by seven tenths of a second, which meant finishing third in the CCRA after several years dominating this event. The runner-up spot then went to the Czech team of Hyundai Canarias, by only half a point difference.

Already in fourth place were the already regional champions, Suárez-González, who celebrated the title they are taking to the island of La Palma with the contribution of their Sport&You Canarias team. Their mission was none other in this rally and that is why they never entered the fight for a podium place.

Highlight the great work of Emma Falcón and the entire Sport&You Canarias team in placing all their main teams in the places of honor of the CCRA plus the victory in Lanzarote with Lemes-Cambeiro.

Oliver Rodríguez and David RIvero, champions of Lanzarote

Antonio Toñín Suárez-Jorge Cedres (Porsche 911 GT3) and Sergio Fuentes-Ariday Bonilla (Citroen C3 Rally2) occupied the next two places in that order, so there were not many changes of positions throughout the second day of ROIL23.

In seventh place were Oliver Rodríguez-David Rivero, surpassing Oscar Cabrera-Luis Ferrer (Citroen C3 Rally2) by only four seconds. For the Nazaret team it was a complicated rally with the mechanics of the Porsche 911, but they knew how to hold their own and thus become champions of Lanzarote 2023, succeeding Suárez-Cedrés in the title.

The ninth place was awarded to another Lanzarote driver, the young Javi Cañada, with Jonathan Hernández as co-driver in the Opel Corsa Rally4, clearly winning this last round of the Rally You-BP Ultimate-Pluscar, ahead of Juan Carlos de la Cruz-Gabriel Espino. Cañada also won with his excellent performance in the Volante FALP, Trofeo Júnior FCA and Trofeo Promoción FALP.

Of the 56 teams that took the start, no less than 21 abandoned along the route, in most cases due to breakdown, although there were also a couple of crashes and even a beginning of fire. In the end 35 classified in the general of the ROIL23.

The test ended where it began, on the Avenida Medular de Arrecife, with the participants passing through the arrival ramp and collecting their trophies for the results obtained, from the different categories and promotional cups, to the absolute podium of the ROIL23. The organization of the CD. Evesport was once again very satisfied with the development of the rally, despite the numerous incidents that forced to partially neutralize two sections. An event where the great follow-up of public in all the acts and in the roads of the island has been fundamental And of course, the main sponsorship of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the City Council of Arrecife, with which the season is dismissed in the island and in the CCRA.

The ROIL23 until TC5

The leaders from last night of the Orvecame-Isla de Lanzarote Rally continue to reinforce their first position with the Citroen C3 Rally2 with the colors of Pluscar, winning four of the five sections disputed so far and increasing their difference over the following to 10.1 seconds. The section that escaped him was scored by the second classified of the general, the current champions of the Canary Islands Enrique Cruz-Yeray Mujica, who took the Ford Fiesta R5 faster than his rival in the TC3 Tegoyo-Tías. In this way they are also consolidated in the second place ahead of the Czechs of Hyundai Canarias, Cerny-Cernohorsky, to 22.3 of the head of the classification and to 12.2 of the second step of the podium. An order of classification that the pilots have also repeated in each of the timed sections, with the exception of the scratch of Cruz.

A podium that for the moment does not worry the fourth classified, Miguel Suárez-Eduardo González, the maximum aspirants to leave this afternoon of Lanzarote as champions of rallies of Canary Islands if the current situation is maintained at the end of the competition. A comfortable situation, because it is 20 seconds of Cerny and surpasses by almost the same difference to Toñín Suárez, fifth with the Porsche 911 GT3. The insular champions remain firm in this position, ahead of Sergio Fuentes, Oscar Cabrera and Oliver Rodríguez, the latter affected by diverse technical problems in spite of the effort realized to be in the exit of the rally Orvecame-Isla de Lanzarote and to maintain the leadership in the Lanzarote contest, where it could be advanced by Yeray Lemes.

And like last night, between the Peugeot and Opel Rally4 of the cup of Sport¬You Canarias, the Lanzarote Javi Cañada continues dominating the situation with about 18 seconds of advantage on the veteran Juan Carlos de la Cruz. Fernando Cruz goes in this occasion to another rhythm to assure the title, mainly after the premature abandonment of Giovani Fariña and later of Aníbal Machín. In addition, Cañada leads both the trophy of Promotion FALP as the Junior FCA and the Volante FALP.

Very good rally the one realized until now by the Renault Megane of Oscar Curbelo-Elizabeth de la Iglesia, that closes the group of the first ten classified.
