The match between CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife and Solimusic Events Carballal, corresponding to matchday 23 of the Women's Honor Gold Division, was brought forward to Sunday midday. A match that had two totally different halves, and in which San José Obrero complicated their lives in the second half, allowing the opponent to get into the fight for the two points. Finally, the Lanzarote team won 26 to 23 and add a victory to place themselves alone in second place.
Solimusic Events Carballal tried to surprise CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife from the start of the match, emptying their goal and attacking with seven players to generate superiorities in offensive actions. The Galicians scored the first goal through Beatriz Sola, but from that moment on the locals intensified their defense and did not allow the visitors' shots.
CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife read the match perfectly, making quick attacks to prevent attack-defense changes, and catching the opponent's goal unguarded. The partial in the first minutes was 6 to 2, which forced the coach of Solimusic Events Carballal to request a time-out.
After the instructions from the bench, CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife continued to increase the lead, and with goals from Gema Trujillo, Thais Fermo, Leticia Cobo, Marilia Correia and Lucía Chumillas, they established 13 to 3 on the scoreboard after the halfway point of the first half. With the result of 16 to 9, the first thirty minutes of the match came to an end.
Nothing foreshadowed what was going to happen in the second half, with Solimusic Events Carballal gradually reducing the disadvantage reflected on the scoreboard. The period began with a partial of 0 to 3, which forced David Betancort to request a time-out, and the locals took more than six minutes to score their first goal.
Solimusic Events Carballal even managed to tie the score in the 12th minute of the second half, with Patricia Mallo scoring to make it 18 to 18. From that moment on, CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife got back into the game, and three consecutive goals from Thalyta Almeida, two of them penetrating and one on the counterattack, made it 22 to 19, with the Galician coach requesting a time-out.
With a few minutes left until the end, goals from Leticia Cobo and Gema Trujillo served to put 25 to 20 on the scoreboard, practically sealing the match.
