The Municipal Football Field "Los Volcanes" of Tinajo has been the place for the participation of twenty-six teams in two categories, eight Benjamin and eighteen Alevín, in the second edition of the Tinajo Cup Championship during the past weekend.
In the Benjamin category, the players of CD Tahiche A were proclaimed champions after winning on penalties against AFC Fuerteventura. The third classified were the hosts, CD Tinajo A, with Inter Playa Honda B in fourth place.
In the Alevín category, the final was also even and was finally decided in the penalty shootout in favor of CD Maspalomas. In second place was CD Orientación Marítima A, followed by CD Tinajo A and CD Teguise.
The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, and the sports councilor of Tinajo, Vianney Rodríguez, congratulate "CD Tinajo for having successfully organized a football tournament for and by the youth academy once again. A tribute to conclude the season of twenty-six teams from Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria that, year after year, continues to grow in all aspects".
The president of CD Tinajo, Miguel Ángel Tejera Morales, wanted to "thank all the teams that have been part of the second edition of the Tinajo Cup for their participation. A real success, especially because the children enjoy what they like the most, playing football, and doing it at the end of the season in Tinajo is starting to become a tradition. Now it's time for them to enjoy the summer. Thank you," concludes the president of Tinajo.
