CB San José Obrero has incorporated the Malaga native Ana Marín into its ranks, a goalkeeper with experience in the Women's Silver Division of Honor and in the highest category of Spanish handball.

Ana Marín Pérez, born on January 8, 1997 in Mijas (Málaga), is a player who occupies the position of goalkeeper on the playing field. Her height of 1.75 meters allows her to have considerable wingspan under the posts, standing out for her ability to stop the attacking actions of rival teams.

Her beginnings were in the ranks of Fuengirola El Coto, later joining the Morvedre team of the Silver Division of Honor. Her good projection opened the doors of Handbol Canyamelar in the highest category of Spanish women's handball. In the 2017/2018 season she joined the ranks of Rincón Fertilidad Málaga, playing European competition with the Malaga team. Last season she started in Canyamelar Valencia and joined BM Servigroup Benidorm in the second part of the season, a team with which she played the promotion phase.

Ana Marín comments that she faces this new stage with "great enthusiasm and excitement". "Since the coach's call explaining the idea and the project that was being developed, it was difficult to say no," says the new goalkeeper of CB San José Obrero. "I hope that we can give the Arrecife public a good show every week in Titerroy and in May put the icing on the cake," she adds.

The new goalkeeper of CB San José Obrero has been international in all the lower categories of the Spanish Handball Team, playing two European Championships and a World Championship. In addition, she has also been international with the junior beach handball team, playing a European Championship and winning the silver medal. And in international competition she played the Challengue Cup with the Clínica Rincón Fertilidad de Málaga.

"Seeing the results of last season, with the additions and the project that the club has, it is a good incentive to opt for CB San José Obrero", explains the player about the reasons that led her to decide on the Lanzarote team. The goalkeeper assures that "the project has been built to be in the top positions of the table" and adds that "we have a competitive team, with players with experience in the category and in the Guerreras League".

She will join the training sessions in mid-August, when the pre-season work of CB San José Obrero begins. Ana Marín's objective is to be "at 100% of my capacity so that the group can benefit from it, with which, work, work and more work to contribute as much as possible to the team".

Ana Marín becomes the third addition to the women's team of CB San José Obrero for the 2019/2020 season, and joins the arrival of the pivot Alicia Torres and the left winger Gema Trujillo. And in the chapter of renovations, the club has ensured the continuity of the central Esther de Miguel, with the sports management working on the preparation of the squad.
