CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen won this Saturday at the Municipal de Tías against the Catalan Handbol Sant Quirze (32-24) in a match corresponding to the XLI edition of the Copa de S. M. la Reina, thus achieving the pass to the next round of the competition.

Victory rooted in a more than good second half, with the Chilean goalkeeper Made growing game after game and providing defensive security that promotes the typical cheerful and counterattack game of CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen.

The match started with a very high pace of play imposed by the two teams of the Women's Silver Honor Division, reaching the break without much difference in the score (15-16) and with everything open for the second half.

After the restart, CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen took a few minutes to take the lead, tightening in defense and taking care of the second waves of the Catalans and increasing the offensive baggage thanks to numerous counterattacks and the good work of the local goalkeeper.

By overcoming this round of the Copa de la Reina, the conejero team makes history again and will contribute in January with a Lanzarote and Canary Islands presence in the next round together with the best teams on the national scene.

Sant Quirze has had Carla Robles, Paula Plana and Esther Torregrosa as their top scorers, with five goals each, highlighting the defensive work of the tiñoseras who have left the league's top scorer of the Catalans, María Cadens (with 34 goals in 6 matches and an average of 5.67 goals per match) in just two goals in the match played in the Municipal de Tías.

Among the tiñoseras, the offensive contribution of Mary Sánchez, with eleven goals scored, stood out once again. Well accompanied in that attack work by Keyla Hernández, with seven goals scored this Saturday.

Also noteworthy is the growing contribution in minutes of Atteneri Morales and the first minutes lived this season on the forty by twenty court of Vesi Nenkova.

With this victory in Tías, two Silver teams, CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen and Bolaños, join the four teams from the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola that qualified for the second phase of the XLI Copa de S.M. la Reina.

In the next round of the K.O. tournament, the tiñoseras can meet Conservas Orbe Porriño, who achieved a comfortable victory (24:33) against Servigroup Benidorm; with Helvetia Alcobendas or Zubileta Evolution Zuazo, who won clearly away from home against Balonmano Castellón and Grafometal La Rioja, respectively; with the bottom team of the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola, Salud Tenerife, who achieved victory (21:42) in Galicia against Lavadores Vigo; or with Vino Doña Berenguela Bolaños, who won by the minimum (19:18) against the hitherto undefeated Balonmano Morvedre;

The second round will be played in a double match at the beginning of next year (first leg on January 18 and 19 and second leg on February 15 and 16) between the six teams classified in this round and the rest of the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola teams, with the exception of Super Amara Bera Bera, as defending champion and the next organizer of the final phase.
