CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen has finished the season after losing in the second leg of the qualifying round for the promotion playoff at the Tías Municipal against Ikasa Bm Madrid Boadilla (23-25). The aurinegras go on vacation after having lost three games in the entire season.
Before the qualifying round, it was already known that the best attack was facing the best defense in the División de Honor Plata and, as usually happens in these cases, the defense prevailed in both games. And not only the defense, the speed and forcefulness of the Boadilla team were too much for a Puerto del Carmen that, perhaps, arrived at the decisive matches after an excessively easy pilgrimage in a group that had not demanded as much as the Madrid team at any time.
The Tías team did not start badly in the match. For a good part of the first half, they were flirting with a three-goal advantage on the scoreboard in Tías, but the visitors grew as the score advanced and not only went into halftime minimizing damage (11-10) but came out much more plugged in at the restart (13-14, min. 35).
Puerto del Carmen did not give up, but Ikasa did not slow down. As the minutes passed, reality fell like mature hail on the minds of the Tías team. The Boadilla team felt comfortable on the Tías court and would not stop being ahead at any time, closing the qualifying round and getting into the promotion playoff with merit.
Atteneri Morales was the top scorer for Puerto del Carmen with four goals, while Laura Rúa and Alba Yuste scored five goals each for their team. Both represent the Ikasa attack in Lanzarote, the pivot did a lot of damage to the yellow defense until Juanmi Pérez adapted the defense. At that moment, it was Alba Yuste's time, who put on her boots to run and score in the final part of the match.
