CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen won again this Sunday at the Municipal de Tías against Balonmano Tejina Tenerife (28-19) in a match corresponding to the eighth matchday of the season in group A of the Women's Silver Division. The Tías pavilion welcomed a good crowd on Sunday morning. A minute's silence was observed for the passing of Micaela González, grandmother of club player Kenia Hernández.

The Tiñoseras have chained three consecutive victories between League and Copa de la Reina and, with one game less, they are in fourth position in the standings with eleven points, just behind Oviedo Balonmano, Rodríguez Cleba and San José Obrero.

The match started with many doubts in defense by the locals, which allowed the Tenerife team to maintain equality on the scoreboard. From the 15th minute of the first half, the Tiñosero coach, Miguel Ángel Lemes, changed the defense to a 5:1, which caused a radical change in the defense and the arrival of rapid ball movements and fast counterattacks. CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen thus achieved the first advantages, but it would be on the return from the locker rooms when the Tiñoseras would definitively break the match, considerably extending the advantages.

Miguel Ángel Lemes once again gave minutes to Vesi Nenkova, already with medical discharge in her pocket, each game more adapted to the team and with her aim more refined after returning from injury.

In the scoring chapter, the match against Tejina became something much more choral than usual, with up to eight players scoring, with Luci Betancort being the most successful in front of goal this Sunday with five goals scored. The most successful for the Tenerife team was Andrea Alonso with five goals.

CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen thus accumulates four victories that allow them to return to the top of the table. After today's match, Mary Sánchez is the highest scoring player in the Tiñoseras ranks in the overall of the seven matches played with 48 goals, followed by Keyla Hernández with 39 goals in seven matches played.

The ninth matchday of the league in group A of the Women's Silver Division will pit CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen against Palencia Turismo, a match that will be played on November 9 at 8:00 p.m. in the Mariano Haro Pavilion. The Palencia team is last in the league standings as they have not yet tasted victory, with eight defeats in eight games played. They come from losing at Oviedo Balonmano's home (29-18), with Lucía Lorenzo being their most active player in attack with seven goals scored.
