UD Lanzarote has not been very lucky in the draw for the promotion phase to the Second Division "B" and, a priori, they have been assigned one of the "big teams" of the competition. The Rojillos will have to play against Burgos CF, one of the historic teams of Spanish football. The first match of the tie will be played at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote and is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 22.

The champion of Castilla y León, Burgos Club de Fútbol, will be UD Lanzarote's rival in the promotion phase to the Second Division B. The draw took place on Monday afternoon in the halls of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, with the Rojillo team being paired with one of the teams that everyone wanted to avoid.

Burgos CF has achieved a total of 84 points this season, thanks to 25 wins, 9 draws and 4 losses. After two seasons in the Second Division "B", the Burgos team has been looking for its assault on the bronze division of Spanish football for three consecutive seasons.

Julio Bañuelos is the coach of Burgos CF and in the ranks of the Burgos team there are players known by the islands. This is the case of the midfielder Scifo who has played in teams such as Castillo or UD Las Palmas "B" or the forward Pablo Álvarez who played in Villa Santa Brígida and Universidad de Las Palmas. Their forward Hugo Salamanca is one of the most dangerous players, scoring 20 goals this season in the regular league.

The first match of the tie will be played on Sunday, May 22 at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote and the resolution will be on May 29 at El Plantío de Burgos. The team that manages to overcome this tie will mathematically be promoted to the Second Division "B". The team that loses will have a second chance.
