The second round of the Men's First National Handball Championship began, and Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife had a tough time in the match played on Saturday afternoon against Calvo Xiria. With less than a minute left, Santiago Cardone scored to put Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife ahead, and in the last attack by Calvo Xiria, David García smashed his powerful shot against the crossbar of the goal defended by Javi Santana, a goalkeeper who was very solid in the second half and kept his team in the game during their toughest moments. Javi Aragón sealed the score by finishing off a counter-attack.
With a score of 29 to 27, the match came to an end, with Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife securing victory in the first match of the second round, allowing them to increase their lead over the third-placed team in the league. Next matchday, San José Obrero will visit Lirón Teucro's court.
