Up to 17 swimmers from ESNA Lanzarote traveled last weekend to the Acidalio Lorenzo Pool in S.C. de Tenerife to participate for three days in the Children's-Junior-Absolute Summer Regional Championship “V Memorial Gregorio Soto”.
Following the trend of recent months, the ESNA Lanzarote expedition once again demonstrated unprecedented evolution on the island of Lanzarote and the rest of the Canary Islands, climbing the Tenerife podium on numerous occasions.
The relay team results are: silver in the men's 4x50 Freestyle in the Absolute Category; bronze in the men's 4x50 Medley in the Absolute Category; bronze in the men's 4x100 freestyle in the Absolute Category; bronze in the women's 4x50 Freestyle (female) Absolute Category; gold in the men's 4x100 Freestyle in the Children's Category; gold in the men's 4x200 Freestyle in the Children's Category; silver in the women's 4x100 Freestyle Children's Category and silver in the women's 4x200 Freestyle in the Children's Category.
On the other hand, the ESNA Lanzarote team received the trophy for third place in the women's children's category by total points and another trophy for third place for the general position in the Children's category by total points.
The individual awards by F.I.N.A table of the Championship recognize the best athletes in the category. Swimmer Hugo Rijo Martín (Year 2005) was the first classified in the Men's Junior category for his participation in 400 Free with a time of 4'10:98. Swimmer Claudia Pérez (Year 2008) received the award as second classified in the Women's Children's category for her participation in 400 Free with a time of 4'42:01.
ESNA Lanzarote wants to clarify that the successes of its swimmers in the last year have been accompanied “by the support of companies such as Líneas Romero that, from the beginning, bet on the team”. In addition, they also value the addition of entities such as Crea Lanzarote, Vitaldent, Graciplus, Stilo Vitae and Transportes Jorge Barreto.
Practically without having digested the successes achieved on the island of Tenerife, ESNA is already preparing the expedition to the nearby Spanish Children's and Junior championships.
The expedition of swimmers from ESNA Lanzarote in Tenerife was composed of Óscar Pérez, Hugo Rijo, Nicolás Manzatto, Paula Hernando, Ainara González, Nerea Díaz, Idaira González, Iker Fernández, Kameron Kezele, Javier Callero, María Barrios, Julia González, Claudia Pérez, Sara Rijo, Paula Cardeñosa, Leyre Jorge, Darcie Hardwood, accompanied by coaches Raúl García, José Juan Aranda, Óscar Pérez and José Rijo.
