After 14 h 24´ and 12´´ the “Sorcery” crossed the finish line in the Port of Arrecife as the first boat to finish the crossing of the 72nd San Ginés Regatta between the ports of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Arrecife. It did so at 07:29) today, Saturday.
The crossing went smoothly with wind from the N blowing between 14 and 16 knots during the night, although some boats had to suffer the classic morning calms in Papagayo.
The boat “Alpispa 2” skippered by Francisco J. Olivares (Club Marítimo Varadero) took the absolute victory after investing 18h 08´30´´. Second place went to “Butxaca” by Joaquín Blanco Roca (RCNGC) 20´32´´ in compensated time, finishing third “Naroe” 25´47´´ under the command of Norberto Delgado (RCN Arrecife).

By classes, “Kandinske” by Felipe Roque (RCNGC) was the winner of the ORC 1-2, followed by “Jalapeño “ skippered by Paul Van Leeuwen at 06´38´´, third at 44´40´´ finished “Muyay” by Aureliano Negrín Hernández, both boats from RCNA.
Norberto Delgado with the boat “Naroe” (RCNA) won in ORC 3, followed by “Rogue Wave” by José Ignacio Cantero (RCNGC) at 16´34´´ and “Invictus” by Unai Segurado (CMV) at 03:01:40).
In classes 4-5 the victory corresponded to the absolute winner “Alpispa 2” (CMV) by Francisco J. Olivares. Joaquín Blanco Roca with “Butxaca” was second at 20´32´´ from the winner. “Lancelot” by Agustín Espinosa (independent) achieved the third position at 29´13´´ from “Alpispa 2”.
The female participation stood out in this 72nd edition with 21 sailors, almost 25% of the total, with “Naroe” being the best classified boat with female crew members.

At 20:00 today, Saturday, the awards ceremony will take place at the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, followed by a cocktail-buffet for the participants. The night closes with the traditional “Chalanistas” dance that includes the elections of Miss Chalanista and Míster Chalana.
