Tías hosted the technical and administrative checks of the La Candelaria Rally Sprint on its central avenue under the organization of the Lanzarote Racing Team, after several years of waiting and requests from motor sports athletes on the island.
Fans were able to enjoy the spectacle of the vehicles again in an environment surrounded by the shops in the area, in which the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, was present at the technical checks. These are reviews where the categories, visualization and verification of the engines, security measures and assistant area are checked. Each team tunes up their machines, of which 26 teams will be on the starting grid this Saturday.
After the checks of the 'XVII edition of the La Candelaria RallySprint' on Friday afternoon, this Saturday there were a total of six rounds to get a feel for the season, in which each of the seven-kilometer routes and three passes in each direction, the first pass was the Candelaria de San Bartolomé with the following times: from 10:00 am and 10:55 am, 12:00 pm and 12:55 pm, 2:10 pm and 3:05 pm and the road was closed one hour before.
Among the drivers who took the starts were Oscar Cabrera and Aitor Cambeiros, with a Citroën C3 Rally 2 with Sports & You Canarias and Rayco Rodríguez, who made his debut with the Citroën DSE R 3T MAX.
