Magec Tías Against Gender Violence could not add its seventh victory of the season in the Women's League 2, after being defeated by the minimum against the Catalan team of Homs UE Mataró Femení Maresme, which was more successful in the decisive moments. A basket on the buzzer by Mireia Poyato gave the visitors the victory and left the Lanzarote team without a prize.

The local team had problems getting into the game, and Mataró took advantage of its superiority in the paint to take a lead of up to 11 points in the first quarter. A timeout by Jesús García changed the dynamics of the game, and Magec Tías managed to reduce the difference to 6 points at the end of the first period (15 to 21).

In the second quarter, the Lanzarote team continued with its idea of turning the score around, and managed to tie the game on two occasions, thanks to the success from the outside by Marta Pérez, who added 9 points at halftime, thanks to three scored three-pointers. However, Mataró was not surprised, and relied on the strength of Paula Tutusaus and the distribution of play by Angels Farré, to reach halftime with a 4-point advantage (35 to 39).

After passing through the locker rooms, Magec Tías came out more focused and with more defensive intensity, and achieved a 9-0 run that gave them the first lead of the game. The local inside game was superior to that of the rival, and the contribution of the second unit was valuable to finish the third quarter with a 3-point lead (55 to 52).

The last quarter was of maximum tension and emotion, with both teams committing errors and nerves in the shot. Magec Tías had a 4-point lead in the last moments of the game, but Mataró did not give up, and cut the difference to one point with 10 seconds remaining, with possession for the visiting team. It was then that Mireia Poyato, who until that moment had only scored 2 points, became the heroine of the game, by distributing her team's attack and scoring under the basket and with a lot of opposition, on the buzzer that gave Mataró the victory by 63 to 64, to the disbelief of the local team and the joy of the visitor.

With this defeat, Magec Tías Against Gender Violence remains with 6 victories and 11 defeats, one more victory than Adba Sanfer and Náutico de Tenerife, which follow it in the standings, and with one game less than its rivals. Next Sunday, the Lanzarote team will face Adba Sanfer, in a direct duel for permanence, at 12:00 noon peninsular time.
