Urban and patrimonial terrorism

In all likelihood, as soon as they read the heading of these lines, some, the usual ones, will rush to their keyboards to pollute digital newspapers and social networks with opinions hidden in anonymity with outbursts, disqualifications and many other "progressive niceties" that they usually throw at those of us who simply do not agree with their policies of empty words, little pragmatic content and no benefit for citizens.

Probably, they will also run to accuse of corrupt or predators of the territory those who only try to defend the real progress and advancement of this land. An advancement and progress for its people, and not for the unconfessable interests of those whose only objective is that nothing changes so that everything remains the same, especially their full pockets.

Terrorism is deceiving citizens, dressing decisions based on the interest of a few with the suit of defense of the territory and sustainability and destroying the possibilities of this island and its people.

Terrorism is throwing away hundreds of thousands of euros of public money, as they have announced they will do with the Island Plan of Lanzarote, after deceiving citizens by promising in their electoral programs to carry it out. A document that they themselves validated and developed, and that today they should explain why they want to discard it so that nothing changes.

Terrorism is condemning our primary sector to continue lacking the legal security that allows its development, with the sad excuse of defending a territory and a landscape that precisely we owe to them, the selfless workers of the sector.

Terrorism is telling our farmers or ranchers that their farms will remain in a legal limbo, simply because they have decided to politicize with the bread of their children.

Terrorism is continuing to condemn one of our most beautiful tourist centers, La Geria, which we owe to our grandparents, to condemn it to abandonment, allowing it to deteriorate by not carrying out a Special Plan to protect it, allowing its responsible exploitation.

Terrorism is turning your back on winegrowers and winemakers who demand urgent solutions to move towards excellence.

Terrorism is continuing to condemn our historic coastal towns to continue living in a legal limbo that makes it impossible to provide basic services and the sustainable use and enjoyment of our coasts, preventing a transfer of powers that allows Canarians and Conejeros to be the true owners of the future of our coastline.

Terrorism is, and here I stop and rebel, punishing our capital to continue abandoned and far from investments, and condemned to have no future by keeping our Supplementary Plan in a drawer, seeking to please those whom one day we will all know. We must not allow our city to continue to be speculated with, using it as a bargaining chip for their political and/or business tricks.

Patrimonial terrorism is condemning our historical and architectural heritage to abandonment by making capricious decisions that make its use and restoration unfeasible, probably seeking to let them fall to speculate with the land. Our heritage, that of the people of Arrecife, cries out for solutions and not for senseless occurrences that lead us, more and more, to a point of no return in its recovery.

Terrorism is trampling on the interests of the residents of the diseminados of our city, seeking, as always, to benefit a few to the detriment of the majority.

Terrorism is paralyzing, with all the tricks at its disposal, the development of a key piece of land for Arrecife, such as the Islote del Francés, condemning the people of Arrecife, as they already did with Ginory, to pay out of our pockets the whims and visions of those who have only demonstrated, when they have had responsibilities in the matter, to remain in mere empty speeches.

Terrorism yes, urban and patrimonial, because the policies to which some have already accustomed us on this island are authentic attacks against our people. Attacks against the right to grow and diversify that we have as a people and, without a doubt, an attack against democracy, lying to those who with their vote supported in the polls the idea of ordering our territory and its development through legal tools.

Because yes, deceiving citizens is an attack against democracy and that without a doubt, and I want to leave it reflected in these lines, is what the Socialist Party of Lanzarote has been doing in these three years, blocking without explaining why or for whose benefit the Island Plan, the Supplementary Plan, the Plan of La Geria or the transfer of powers in Coasts. In short, a silent and unarmed attack against our people and their rights.

Because yes, and I am not afraid to say it, I BET on the Supplementary Plan of Arrecife and for the people of Arrecife, I BET on the Island Plan of Lanzarote and the people of Lanzarote and I BET on all those legal tools that give us security to continue advancing as a society, even if with it the usual ones stop having their pockets full.
