Mr. Mayor: you have a little chief in the local police of Arrecife

Yesterday, a local police officer from Arrecife fined my vehicle for being parked in a parking space limited to the disabled. I am disabled and had the card that authorizes me to park in that type of parking correctly placed and a few centimeters from where he left me the "little ticket", to add insult to injury.

This sanction, which I have already appealed, is manifestly illegal. This is not the way a public official should act, hence the term "little chief", who disregards the law. I believe that the person in charge of this should open an investigation and sanction this action as legally appropriate. I greatly fear that this WILL BE ARCHIVED WITHOUT ANY CONSEQUENCE, because above the irresponsible person, there will be another "little chief" who has given him instructions.

It is difficult for us, the disabled, to find parking spaces adapted to our situation, because those of us who travel in wheelchairs have to occupy space next to the door to move to the chair, which does not exist in most disabled parking spaces, or they have to bring the chair to us from the trunk, fearing that this area marked in white will be occupied by vehicles without authorization.

This "little chief" should be sent several times during the mornings to the new disabled parking spaces that have been created next to the esplanade in front of Ginory, to see if he loses the habit of skipping the rules and dedicates himself to really sanctioning those who break them, which happens one day yes and another also. Maybe I'm wrong and this writing is useful, but I greatly fear that they are words in the wind.

Signed; Luis Pérez del Toro
