After reading the article that Fernando dedicates to the young Canarian artist, Quevedo, I make this reflection.
The article already starts badly by saying "some Canary Islands flags" and many from Argentina and Spain... of course! When we know perfectly well that above all, in every Quevedo concert, what there are, are Canary Islands flags 🇮🇨 in every concert that this generation of artists representing the dreams of the island youth does in every geographical point of our country. But of course, for the one thing we have "these guys"... "the kingdom comes to put itself first".
What a shameful article. First for taking away merit from the kid. A young islander who spent the quarantine at home producing music and trying to live his dream like any young entrepreneur... while others were collecting ERTE lying on the couch. And is this how we intend to castrate the spirits of our young people who are trying to make a living in a country with such an uncertain outlook for them? It really isn't fair.
Quevedo and his generation have had multiple details with their (our) land with this message. He releases a song, and as a good Canarian, he puts our time before the peninsular one.
How important it is to have people from the land who are leaving us in such a good place. They would like an institutional campaign that has the media impact that "come to the Canary Islands, I'm going to give you a tour of the island" has had. Putting the Canary Islands high on the world map.
And yes, it will be nonsense for some who have everything very close, but for us who are thousands of kilometers from a central territory that sometimes seems not to know our idiosyncrasies, they are small steps and details to have dignity, and above all, preserve our identity.
We are not the Canary Islands of the "muyayo".
We are the Canary Islands of the trip, without a return ticket.
Of paradise... that many would like!
From other songs it could be said that their lyrics are not at all inclusive, but precisely, it is the last session of @Bizarrap, which can be said to be a song with a fairly "good vibes" lyrics: and with 0 lack of respect or discrimination to any group.
Let them not mess with our youth, because my children, the canned and "old-fashioned", are you.
