The Air and Space Force and the Teguise City Council have opened this Friday the program of events with the aim of celebrating 50 years of Costa Teguise. Throughout the weekend, "the work of one of the three armies of the Armed Forces" will be shown and, specifically, this Saturday you can see the exhibition made by the Parachute Acrobatic Patrol of the Air and Space Force (PAPEA) in Las Cucharas.

The inauguration of the static exhibition with the material of the Air and Space Force, "has counted this Friday with the presence of more than 200 boys and girls from the schools of Costa Teguise, Nazaret and Soo, who have been able to learn about the flight material of the F-18 Squadron and the Search and Rescue Service (SAR) of the Air Force, and try a virtual shooting simulator and a flight simulator", explain from the Teguise City Council.

This exhibition will remain in the parking lot of Los Charcos beach in Costa Teguise until 5:00 p.m. today, Friday, and will reopen to the public this Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., a day in which, in addition to what is exhibited, it will offer the possibility of getting on a SAR helicopter, which will land at 09:15 in the exhibition area and, later, will participate in the aerial demonstrations.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, invited on Wednesday's presentation to the entire population of Lanzarote to "enjoy both days", which will feature aerial demonstrations by the SAR and PAPEA; the concert of the Music Unit of the Canary Islands Air Command; the discovery of a plaque in honor of the Patrulla Águila; the solemn lowering of the Flag of Spain with an act of homage to the fallen and subsequent military parade, in addition to an institutional recognition of the City Council of the Villa de Teguise to the Air and Space Force that will take place in the Convent of Santo Domingo in the Villa de Teguise.

The City Council recalls that "the highlight will be the exhibition of the 12 paratroopers of the Parachute Acrobatic Patrol of the Air and Space Force, who will fly over the sky of Costa Teguise after being launched from a C212 plane on Las Cucharas beach, on which they will make 4 passes deploying the flag of the Canary Islands and that of Spain, showing their skill in the air". As a prelude to this exhibition, "the public will first enjoy (from 11.30 on Saturday), the intervention of a SAR helicopter, which will make a rescue demonstration at sea", says the City Council. Therefore, "the parachuting exhibition is scheduled for 12.15 hours and will last 20 minutes", they conclude.
