The advisor of Podemos in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Yurena Corujo, has presented her resignation this Thursday, just two days after the councilors of her party requested the dismissal of Elena Solís as Minister of the Environment.
"This morning I resigned from my position as advisor in the Cabildo of Lanzarote. It was a difficult and hard decision but necessary. My colleagues from Podemos Lanzarote already know the reasons and I believe that it is not good for the collective project to continue delving into the conflict", Corujo explained on her social networks.
It should be remembered that the dismissal of Solís was requested by Myriam Barros and Jorge Peñas, alleging "loss of confidence" and "lack of harmony" with the non-elected councilor, after being at the center of some controversies such as the cancellation of the Rally Isla de Los Volcanes or her recent participation in a national television program questioning the extraction of jable in the Muñique area.
Yureña Corujo assures that "without any doubt", she will continue working "with loyalty within the organization, both from the autonomous executive and the island assembly in everything she can contribute to continue building a progressive and transformative space for Lanzarote and the Canary Islands".
"Now it is more necessary that we provide politics with good substance but above all with good manners and that we leave egos, impulses and individualities out of the equation. It is a country challenge", she defends.
