The Yaiza City Council has published this Thursday on the Public Sector Contracting Platform of the Ministry of Finance the call for tenders and all the documentation of the file for the construction project of the new link road between Avenida Femés and Avenida Papagayo, in the tourist town of Playa Blanca. The mayor reports that companies interested in submitting offers for the development of this project, which has a budget of 2.4 million euros and an execution period of 10 months, can do so until Tuesday, May 7.

The project consists of the construction of a 730-meter-long road that will connect Avenida a Femés de Playa Blanca, at the rear of the Marcastell urbanization, with Avenida Papagayo, in the area of the Hesperia Playa Dorada hotel, in addition to the provision of other infrastructures and complementary equipment.

According to the City Council, "the road subject to the action will facilitate the mobility of residents of Las Coloradas, Castillo del Águila, Playa Blanca partial plan, San Marcial del Rubicón and the residents and tourists of Playa Blanca who will have an alternative access road that will result in the vehicular flow of the town, also relieving traffic through the center of the town."

The project in Playa Blanca also includes the construction of two roundabouts, one on each of the avenues that will be connected, and a 121-meter-long branch on Pablo Picasso Street. The main road will have a traffic lane for both directions, a 3-meter-wide bike lane in the north-south direction, sidewalks and parking areas. The execution of the initiative also includes street furniture and channeling of electrical, hydraulic and telecommunications installations.

The Yaiza City Council and the Secretary of State for Tourism of Spain signed an agreement last November in Yaiza to materialize the 1,150,000 euro item nominated for the municipality in the 2018 General State Budgets for this project framed in the program of rehabilitation of tourist spaces and infrastructures. The Yaiza City Council, for its part, allocates 1,250,000 million euros of its own resources to co-finance the execution of the works that it has just put out to public tender, based on the decree signed by the mayor on April 11. Those interested can access the Public Sector Contracting Platform of the Ministry of Finance where the announcement has been published from the banner on the cover of the municipal website www.yaiza.es.
