The Public Works area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote is carrying out works on the playgrounds in Yaiza.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, assured that through this type of cooperation "the municipalities of the island continue to be supported". While he highlights that "this island corporation will always extend a hand to the different town councils and will help financially so that they can carry out their projects," he added.
The head of insular Works, Jacobo Medina, recently visited the new playground next to the School and the future remodeled picnic area in Uga, together with the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the councilor of Works, Ángel Lago.
“These two interventions are fundamental for the search for new meeting and play spaces for the little ones in the south of the island”, explained the councilor, who also pointed out that the playground of the Uga School “was a space very demanded by the citizens”.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote has allocated, for these two interventions, more than half a million euros through the Municipal Cooperation Plans. Specifically, for the project of implementation of a playground in the School of Uga, an amount of up to 349,290 euros was invested; while for the transformation of the Uga picnic area, a budget of 247,033 euros has been allocated.
The vice president and councilor of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, assures that the insular Corporation “continues on the path of investment for the transformation of all the municipalities of the island”.
