Urbaser dismisses its manager in Lanzarote

The company that has the cleaning and garbage collection service in Arrecife, Urbaser, has dismissed its delegate in Lanzarote, César Arcauz, although it has not explained the reasons for this decision. "They have not notified the City Council, but I understand that it is an internal matter", said the Councilor for Cleaning of Arrecife, Roberto Herbón.

From the press department of Urbaser they have confirmed to La Voz de Lanzarote the dismissal of Arcauz, although they have not conveyed the reasons. "I don't know why," Herbón pointed out, who, despite not having been notified by the company, has been aware of the dismissal.

"It does not affect the company", said the Councilor for Cleaning in any case, who wanted to disassociate this fact from other episodes experienced in the company, which was involved in the Unión case, with the arrest of its manager on the island, Jacinto Álvarez, and other executives in Madrid. "The company continues to move the same, it has no more importance", Herbón assured regarding this change.

However, the Councilor for Cleaning has pointed out that the delegate of Urbaser in the Canary Islands is scheduled to visit the island next week to hold a meeting with him and with the mayor and that he hopes that they will give explanations. "We'll see what he tells us," he said.

"The company is complying"

"Now the general manager remains, who was already acting as delegate, as manager, before César arrived and waiting for another person to come", added Roberto Herbón, who pointed out, in fact, that this Wednesday he held a working meeting at the company, with which he has assured "to be happy"

"What I ask them, they comply with. They have never told me this does not correspond to us, it is not our turn, or anything", the councilor pointed out in this regard. "The company is complying", added Roberto Herbón, who explained that there is a technician from the City Council who, although he is now on leave, is in charge of monitoring the contract. "It is true that when the contract was made Arrecife had 57,000 or 58,000 inhabitants and now we are at 62,800", indicated Roberto Herbón, who believes that the contract, when it is fulfilled, will have to be improved.
