The Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, through the Directorate General of Universities and Research, has notified the first provisional proposal for the university scholarship call for the 2025/2026 academic year, which integrates 3,817 managed applications, representing significant progress within the planned schedule. The call received a total of 10,446 applications, the technical evaluation of which is still ongoing.
The provisional proposal includes 971 granted applications and 214 granted pending correction, distributed among the University of La Laguna, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and other universities.
The total amount associated with this proposal amounts to 2,135,464.93 euros, which includes amounts for housing, transportation, income, functional diversity, and academic fees. Of this figure, 1,407,315.25 euros are allocated directly to students, while 728,149.68 euros correspond to the payment of fees at ULL and ULPGC
The Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, Migdalia Machín, highlighted that "the call is progressing with a clear procedure based on technical criteria that guarantee an assessment consistent with what is established in the bases." She added that "our priority is that access to higher education occurs under conditions of equality and with an orderly process that provides security to those who have applied for the scholarship." She also pointed out that "the processing maintains the planned schedule, which will allow the final resolution to be published in December."
The technical assessment will continue to be developed until the processing is completed. The excellence modality will have an independent procedure.
