The Canary Islands Workers' Union Front (FSOC) has publicly asked the unions that are part of the committee of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers (CACT) to clarify whether its CEO, Ángel Vázquez (Popular Party), has raised his salary by almost 25,000 euros and earns around 95,000 euros per year, more than the President of the Government of Spain. This information was denounced by the PSOE in a press release issued this past Tuesday.

The union has stated that it cannot affirm this salary increase and has asked the company and the committee to clarify whether the director and some managers have experienced salary increases, under what criteria they have been approved and why "a similar treatment has not been applied to all workers".

In this sense, FSOC has stated that, if true, these measures "are not included in the collective agreement". To which it has added that if these salary increases have occurred throughout the past year, it is "striking" that the members of the CACT council have not spoken out about it before. Finally, they have asked to be informed with transparency and "clarity" of what the reality is.
