The Independent and Civil Servants Union (CSIF) denounces the "lack of management and planning by the mayor of Haría" in the face of the worrying situation that the Local Police staff of the municipality is going through.

The union recalls that, since mid-April, the municipal budgets have been approved and, however, the government group has not yet been able to bring the Public Employment Offer to the General Negotiation Table of this town hall, which contemplates two new Local Police positions. A delay that CSIF considers "unjustifiable, especially, taking into account the urgent need to reinforce police personnel and guarantee an adequate service to the citizens".

From CSIF they warn that "the mayor's passivity could cause Haría to lose an important opportunity to incorporate up to four new officers to its staff". Currently, the Government of the Canary Islands is developing a selection process in which the Haría City Council already has two positions included.

According to the union, "there is the possibility of expanding that offer before the procedure ends, going from two to four positions. However, the lack of initiative and the delay in processing the new Public Employment Offer could prevent the municipality from taking advantage of this opportunity, thus prolonging the shortage of personnel that the Local Police has been suffering from".

CSIF demands that the mayor of Haría "assume his responsibilities and act immediately to prevent this opportunity from being lost due to a lack of municipal management". The union considers it "a priority" to urgently convene the Negotiation Table, unblock pending matters, and adopt the necessary measures to reinforce the police staff. "It is not understandable that, given an evident need for officers and the possibility of increasing personnel, administrative delays continue to accumulate, harming both the workers and the entire community of the municipality," they state.

Finally, CSIF recalls that citizen security and the physical integrity of the agents themselves "cannot be subordinated to the lack of planning by the governing group". "The shortage of personnel, the difficulties in organizing services, and the situations in which police officers must patrol alone make it essential to adopt urgent solutions," they assure. Therefore, the union once again urges the mayor to sit down to negotiate, address pending demands, and demonstrate with actions his commitment to security.

From CSIF, they insist that reinforcing the staff "is not a union whim, but a necessity to guarantee the safety of the residents of Haría and, also, of the agents responsible for protecting them."
