The vice-president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Jesús Tovar, has opened this Thursday a new stage at the head of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism.

This Thursday, October 15, an extraordinary board of directors meeting was held in which the acknowledgment of the "prolonged sick leave of the CEO Ángel Vázquez" was approved and acknowledgment was taken of "Decree of the President of the Insular Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa 2026-7779 by which the Area of Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism EPEL-CACT" is delegated to María Jesús Tovar Pérez".

Tovar faces this responsibility “with enthusiasm, commitment, and a will to serve the island,” and with the aim of “giving a new impetus to strategic lines of work, advancing in the achievement of objectives through close, responsible management committed to the general interest, and continuing to build a team to face the challenges ahead with the greatest guarantees of success.”

The new councilor of the Centers has highlighted that taking charge of the Entity “is a great responsibility, but also an exciting challenge.” In this regard, she has underlined that “it is not only about managing a company, but about taking care of something that belongs to all the people of Lanzarote, that is part of our history and that we have the duty to keep alive and make grow for future generations.”

Likewise, she has expressed her willingness to continue the management model developed during the current legislature, betting on the consolidation of projects and initiatives that contribute to the development of Lanzarote. “We are going to continue supporting all those projects and initiatives that help build the island and that generate wealth and well-being for the population,” she has pointed out.

“This new stage aims to continue strengthening the role of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism as part of the collective heritage of Lanzarote and as an asset at the service of the citizens and those who visit the island,” Tovar concluded.
