Tías removes 34 rental scooters from public roads in Puerto del Carmen

The reason for removing the scooters was that the company that rents or manages that use lacks a municipal permit, a company that will have to pay the corresponding penalty, the city council has reported.

The Tías City Council has removed a total of 34 rental scooters from the public road and sidewalks of Puerto del Carmen this week, which remain stored in the municipality's vehicle depot, located on Anzuelo Street in the tourist town.

The company that rents or manages the use of these scooters lacks a municipal permit to carry out its activity in the municipality of Tías, so the Local Police of Tías will continue to remove these vehicles and the company will have to pay the corresponding penalty.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Mobility, Sergio García, recall that "in previous years, the rental scooters that were operating in Puerto del Carmen were already removed", thus responding to citizen complaints and the numerous cases of traffic accidents caused by these Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMV).
