The Tías City Council has completed the comprehensive refurbishment of the sports court located in the residential area of the 50 homes in Puerto del Carmen, an action that has involved an investment of 63,865 euros and will allow residents to have a space ready for sports activities.
The intervention has included general painting of the court, installation of new basketball hoops and goals, dismantling of stone elements, conditioning of the structure for the placement of new perimeter fencing, as well as the installation of an access door, notably improving the functionality of the venue.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, visited the area along with the first deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, and the councilors for Urban Planning and Sports, Ulpiano Calero and Ismael Cruz. The municipal representatives checked the results of the work, which aimed to provide the neighborhood with a meeting point for sports.
"This court is much more than a sports facility; it's a meeting point for our youth and a space designed for enjoyment, learning, and growing as a community, always respecting the facilities. Investing in neighborhoods like this is investing in equal opportunities and in the quality of life for our neighbors," declared José Juan CruzIsmael Cruz explained, for his part, that "from day one we set ourselves the goal of recovering and dignifying this space, and today it is a reality thanks to the joint work of the City Council. We want sport to be present in every corner of the municipality, with facilities adapted to the needs of the citizens."
