The Tías City Council publicly presented two seven-seater vans with a cargo area for materials, which will be immediately incorporated into the municipality's operational services. Both vehicles will be used to reinforce the actions of Civil Protection Tías in prevention, assistance, and emergency tasks.
This acquisition was made possible thanks to the earmarked grant awarded by the Lanzarote Consortium for Safety, Emergencies, Rescue, Prevention, and Fire Extinction, amounting to 45,000 euros, and to the Tías Town Council's own funds, from which 15,000 euros are allocated.
The presentation took place in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, with the presence of the mayor, José Juan Cruz, the first deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, the president of the Consortium, Francisco Aparicio, members of the government group, representatives of Civil Protection, and municipal personnel.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, emphasized during the presentation that "with these new units, we are reinforcing our capacity to respond to emergencies and improving the service we provide to citizens. It is an investment in safety, efficiency, and proximity, which highlights the essential work of Civil Protection."
For his part, the First Deputy Mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, emphasized that "these vans are not just vehicles, but tools at the service of the people. They will facilitate the daily work of our teams, allowing them to act with greater speed, comfort, and autonomy. We will continue to invest in improving public resources to guarantee a safer and better-served municipality."
The acquired vehicles are two Peugeot Boxer Caja Abierta 3.5T Heavy L3 BHDI 103 Kw(140 HP) diesel with environmental badge C, which allows a maximum load of 3,500 kg and can transport up to 7 people. The vehicles come fully equipped, with air conditioning, different ADAS (Driving Aids), Bluetooth, touch screen, etc., in addition to specific equipment for the development of the activity, such as trailer stability control, hill start assist, and selective catalytic reduction, among others.
