The project for the execution of the works for the expansion of the Tías cemetery, in an adjacent western extension of the current one, is in the tendering process with an estimated contract value of 1,501,701.11 euros, including taxes. The Tías City Council announces that the deadline for interested companies to submit their proposals is January 12th.
The project promoted by the Tías City Council addresses the expansion of the cemetery by installing niches, columbaria, and burial spaces, in addition to interior urbanization areas. Necessary connections will be made with the current cemetery so that the system is unified and functional.
According to the proposal, two larger central squares are envisioned, serving as meeting and distribution areas where shaded zones and water features will appear. "These areas also aim to have a slight separation from the burial zones, with landscaped spaces around their perimeter, featuring large trees, which can offer greater tranquility."
A total of 762 niches are planned, separated into seven distinct blocks, located at different points on the property. 80 columbaria and 35 ossuaries are also located in different spaces, making a total of 877 burial places solely in the planned blocks.
Regarding the design of the interior urbanized spaces, the aim is for them to be accessible at all times, maintaining simple itineraries and routes for use. The project starts from a plot with a slight slope, with views towards the sea in the southern area, which is lower.
