The Popular Party of Tías points out that "it has ensured that the rural areas of the municipality of Tías have electric vehicle charging points throughout 2023." The popular group, led by the local president and councilor in the Corporation, Kiko Aparicio, "defended on Monday morning the motion presented by the populars, where the tripartite of the PSOE, Podemos and Lava is required to deploy charging points for citizens during this year 2023 for the transition towards the decarbonization of the planet."

Councilor Aparicio pointed out that "the PP ensured that Tías was a pioneer, during its term between 2011 and 2019, in the deployment of charging points for automobiles, installing the first ones on the island of Lanzarote in the tourist area of Puerto del Carmen, and in the urban center of Tías. In addition to these pioneering centers, Tías was also, under the PP stage, the first institution in Lanzarote to have electric vehicles in its municipal fleet. As is well known, the implementation of the modern municipal garbage service deployed by the populars had five electric units in its fleet."

Now, with this motion approved this Monday unanimously by all the political forces present in the Municipal Corporation, the intention is, as Aparicio underlined, that "Tías recovers the lost leadership in these three and a half years of mandate of the PSOE, Podemos and Lava in the implementation of new charging points."

The PP, in the motion approved this Monday, highlighted that Royal Decree-Law 29/2021, of December 21, which adopts urgent measures in the energy field to promote electric mobility, self-consumption and the deployment of renewable energies, "develops an article where the use of alternative energies is promoted. In addition, the UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 aims to guarantee access to affordable energy, safe, sustainable and modern and to an efficient use of it, which must be in a greater proportion, from renewable energy sources." UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 is also taken into account by seeking to make municipalities more inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

In Tías, according to the motion of the populars, "there are the rural areas of La Asomada, Conil, Mácher and Masdache, in addition to the urban center of Tías and Puerto del Carmen, the main tourist area of Lanzarote. Between 2011 and 2019, under Municipal Governments of the PP, initiatives were adopted to turn Tías into the pioneering municipality on the island of Lanzarote in betting on electric charging points." Aparicio defends that Tías "must recover the time lost in this field, and many others, with the paralysis of the Government of Mayor José Juan Cruz Saavedra, who has had to wait for this proposal from the PP so that the residents of these rural areas have public electric charging points for their vehicles during this year."
