One of the candidates to occupy a local police position in Arrecife has requested the challenge of the lists of suitable and unsuitable candidates from the development test that was held on August 16. This person believes that their exam "is approved" and, furthermore, denounces that some of the candidates "do not meet the requirements".

It should be remembered that only 10 candidates passed this test and that 13 appeals were then filed, the resolution of which was known last Friday. According to the Councilor for Local Police, Cristina Marrero, the appeals have finally been rejected and only 10 people have definitively passed the tests, after the court corrected the last exercise held this Thursday.

However, this young man, who has not yet received notification from the City Council that his appeal has been rejected, is "convinced" that his exam "is approved". "During the review, the lack of data that is subsequently found to exist is pointed out, which suggests that the exam has not been properly corrected, either due to the speed with which the correction was carried out, due to the methodology used, or due to difficulty in understanding of the members of the Court in reading the exams for their qualification", he points out in the appeal he filed, where he states that the exam was corrected "in a single day" and that perhaps "this could affect the correct final qualification (?) due to the natural fatigue that the procedure used produced in the members of the court".

Despite this, he assures, his grade was not modified. "The secretary stated that she did not have organizational competence to modify the grade or communicate to the rest of the court possible defects in the assessment of the exam in the qualification carried out", he explains in the appeal.

In addition, this young man assures that he requested a copy of the exam three times. "The secretary did not want to give it to me, when she has the power to do so, and I had to end up asking the president of the court for it. This is a joke"."They are laughing at us and at my effort. I have been preparing for competitive exams for several years and, since May, I have done nothing but study. And for them to come and tell me that my exam is failed, when I am convinced otherwise, I cannot stand it", he adds

Lawsuit in court

For this reason, this young man also assures that he is going to file an administrative contentious appeal. A lawsuit to which, according to La Voz, other people who were taking the competitive exam and who consider that there have been "irregularities" in the process will join.

Likewise, it could be that these people present a motion in the plenary session of the Arrecife City Council through Alternativa Ciudadana so that they explain what happened. "We have explained to them how to do it and if they want to present it, we will support them", said the spokesperson for this party in Arrecife, Blanca Blancas.
